Pre-College Freshman Bootcamp

Service Description

If your child is a graduating high school senior, getting ready to attend college in the fall of 2023 - this seminar is for them! Three virtual meetings are held over the course of 1 weekend - Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday night for 1 hour each time. All meetings will be RECORDED. The Bootcamp will cover the following topics: 1. College Finances, Financial Literacy, and College Budget 2. Academic Success, Time Management, and Academic Resources 3. Setting Yourself Up for Success: Living on Campus, Roommates, and Difficult Conversations Students gain valuable skills and knowledge to make the transition to college as smooth and as successful as possible. This course is structured in a small group setting to maximize opportunities for the students to learn from the instructor and to share with one another. This is a great practice for college: to get out of the comfort zone and engage with peers in a meaningful way. After each seminar, the students receive a list of actionable items to work on while they are getting ready for college. Each 1-hour seminar includes a lecture on a specific topic and an open Q&A session where students ask questions, share experiences, and support one another through the summer.
